The Somali Centre for Family Services has been serving the Somali community in the Ottawa area since 1991. We provide assistance to refugees, and to immigrants in need of settlement support and integration services. In addition, our friendly and professional staff is here to answer any questions you may have about our services.
Our mission is to assist refugees and immigrants in need, focusing on particular needs of the Somali families and individuals living in the city of Ottawa, through partnerships, services and programs that are timely, culturally appropriate and address their concerns.
A shared philosophy by all members is that: "The success of the community and building its capacity to deal with issues depend to a large extent on how well it takes care of its needy and each other with dignity, respect, and compassion."
"Community Policing, a Shared Responsibility" is a report prepared for the Department of Canadian Heritage, Multiculturalism Program. If you are working with the police and the community, this report contains important information for you.
